Have you ever been thankful for your pillow? Maybe you should think about it! As part of the pledge process my pledge class as to conduct a community service project as a class. Our Pledge Class President organized a great project and I am thankful for this opportunity. Here in Fort Worth, we have a hospital called Cooks Children's Hospital! It is a lot like Arkansas Children's in Arkansas. Earlier this semester, I had the opportunity to go and paint with some patients there and it was very fun. I like giving back to places like this because as a child I spent a good amount of time at the children's hospital; therefore it is something that is close to my heart. I know that I can make a difference in kids lives who may not have anything else to look forward to. For our project we bought a pillow case and a pillow and wrote a letter to the the person who would be receiving the pillow. I had a girl pillowcase so I wrote a letter talking about Elsa and Ana... fitting I thought! I know it wasn't much, but I gave the patient my contact info and maybe she or her mother will contact me... I would love that. We could only drop them off because of rules at the hospital, but just being able to do something to better with community as a pledge class is really an awesome thing. I know if I were in the hospital I would love something like that. So to whoever got the pillow and letter from me I hope it made your day and I hope that you remember how much God loves you! It's honestly the little things that make the biggest impact. Do something like this. It doesn't take much, but think about the impact that you would be making. There are people in his world who need that impact! I am thankful to be able to make that impact... My pillow has a purpose and I pray that it does the job. What a great way to start the week, huh? Also, I have ANOTHER test tomorrow at 3:30 and y'all know I love prayers. Send them up if you have time!
I am thankful for any opportunity where I can impact someone else. Make sure you do something like this is life... It is one of the best feelings and one of the things I constantly find myself thankful for!
Southern and Thankful
Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God's steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way.
