There is something you should know about me and some of my family members. We are obsessive when it comes to having a clean car. I am not as bad as my Mom or Bia, but I really can't stand a dirty car. In fact that is what I have really disliked about college... You can't keep a clean car if you try. I miss our garage more than lots of things while I am away from home. While I really like a clean car, I am not too fond of cleaning it myself though (lol). I guess I kind of like to, it's part of my genetic make up, but don't really ever take the time to do it. So last week I brought up getting someone to really clean my car before I return to school. I am not talking about splashing some soap and water. I am talking wheels and wax... the whole package! Naturally, Bia (my grandfather) was thrilled for the chance to help me!
This was actually great because:
1. When I go through a car wash the whole time I am thinking about how I could have done it myself... Guilty conscience.
2. I would jump at any opportunity to spend time and learn from my Bia!
Today we got my car all ready to head back to Texas and my Bia deserves a HUGE shoutout for making my car look basically brand new. One thing about being in this part of the south is the bugs. Some nights I will be driving home and it will sound like rain hitting my windshield. The sound is actually bugs... They are awful, & can really mess up a car when you leave them on for too long. They essentially "bake" in the sun and become darn near impossible to get off. Thank you Bia for helping me and teaching me a thing or two about washing a car. Have I mentioned you are the King of that? Love you lots, & I look forward to the next time you want to help me!
Keep your car clean. Take pride in the things you own. Be thankful...even for bugs on your car!
Southern and Thankful
Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God's steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way.
