I am back in Fort Worth after a great break that flew by. I spent Spring Break at home since I will be going abroad in the beginning of May and I could not imagine a better way to spend my break. Things have been so crazy for me this semester and it was so nice to just be at home. Not only was it productive in several ways, but it was also full of rest, relaxation, and great food. My family sure is special.
When I first got home it was kind of depressing because I was seeing how all my friends/other TCU people were having such an amazing break in all these far off locations. But as the week went on I became very thankful for my decision to go home. And let's not forget how happy I was to be reunited with my bed. Wow I already miss it! In case you are not friends with me on snapchat, you must know that the only thing I seemed to do over break was eat. One day I was watching my own story and noticed how it was completely full of the food I was eating. But oh well. If I had to be jealous of the fun everyone was having by watching their stories, they could be jealous of my food, right? (LOL). But seriously I got to eat at some of my favorite restaurants AND my Mom, Dad, and JanJan made some of my favorite things. For example, last night we had homemade chicken and dumplings AND Kentucky derby pie for dessert. I mean it is quite possible that I gained 50+ pounds this weekend. Crazy, but so worth it! It was kind of weird with my Spring Break being so early. None of my friends were home during the week, but it turned out to be good because I was able to spend lots of quality time with my family and I was able to get caught up on all my TV shows. I love a good TV series FYI. Mills, Mom, and I watched the whole first season of Fuller House... we would recommend! Really cute show! Needless to say sometimes home is the best thing for you. I may have not known that at the beginning of Spring Break, but now that it is over I am fully reminded of how thankful I should be for a low key week at home. I am really wishing that at this moment I could be back on the couch, but I have like 8 weeks left of sophomore year (CRAZY) and I would like to finish that first. And I will be back home in 10 days for Easter. Now, if I can make it through these next 10 days I will be extra thankful. I have so much going on in these 10 short days that I already see the stress headed my way. Go ahead and start praying if you will! Remember that when all else fails home will always be thankful to have you back for a while. Until next time... thanks Spring Break 2016! Yours Truly, Southern and Thankful
