Everyone is like "back to the real world" and I am just here like "praise God I have another week" (lol)
Spending the New Year at the lake is always one of my favorite things to do. A lot of people travel during this holiday season, and often I forget that we have a great getaway just two hours away. I am so glad we were able to spend a good amount of time at the lake. Perfect place to ring in the New Year if you ask me! The weather was pretty nice. Not too cold, but not too hot. Yesterday we sat outside for a little while watching the bowl games on the TV on the porch. I had a blanket, we had the outside heater going, and the sun was setting beautifully... The perfect combination. Sometimes when life seems crazy or impossible to handle a sunset is the best thing that can happen to a person. It tells a lot if you take the time to listen to it. Janjan and Mom made potato soup and chili, which are two of my favorites. And incase you were wondering we then watched the biggest comeback in bowl history... AKA TCU vs. Oregon. No, I am still not really over it. After everything settled down and everyone went to bed, I watched a couple of episodes of Grey's (obsessed) and then went to bed myself. Nothing beats life at the lake no matter what time of year!
I do have some special things coming tomorrow (EEEPPPP). I cannot wait!! Check back here tomorrow... I am hoping you all will be thankful!
For those of you going back to the real world tomorrow... prayers for you. For those of you who are not... be thankful for it while it lasts!
Southern and Thankful
Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God's steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way.
