I am a couple of days behind if you cannot tell, but life has been full of several things to be thankful for lately. I am happy about this, but it has caused me to be a little behind schedule. So I have to dedicate today's post to one of the brightest lights in my life. Yesterday she turned 18, but it feels like just yesterday we were hanging out on Lake Hamilton in our life jackets. God knew all the way back then that Hannah Oliver would later play a huge role in my life. Funny how that works, but thankful it does! I actually couldn't imagine my life without her.
Many seem to be confused as to how we define our relationship because it has changed over the years. It really isn't anyone's business, but I love to keep them guessing.
Hannah is probably my best friend. I trust her 100%. We have grown a lot together and at the same time I have loved watching her grow. Things have been different lately because unfortunately we are not in the same place. It is not fun, but I know Hannah and I are strong together and we are also strong apart. This has been a huge growing experience for me, but at the same time I am so thankful that through everything she has constantly been my friend. She is the perfect example of a true friend, which is something you don't often see. She supports me constantly, she gives good advice, she is always able to help me, she does a lot for Southern and Thankful, she loves bacon, she loves sonic, she loves lipstick, she is a firm believer in Jesus Christ, she is a stud all around, and she loves me no matter what. This last quality in my opinion is what makes her so special!
Timing right now for us is not perfect and she will learn this as she begins college in less than a year, but we are both just faithful believers in God's plan. We know that it will work out and we know right now we are supposed to be the best friends possible for each other. That is all that matters!
I am unbelievably thankful that God put her in my life as you can see! I am forever grateful for all the memories together, laughs together, pageants together, and I am hopeful for many more. If you ask anyone, they could probably tell you that Hannah loves me. It is just so obvious. Her heart is amazing. That is what makes her an amazing person. Her love for me is something that I truly need and cherish. I can honestly say that I love her just as much! It may not be as evident, but I can promise you with my whole heart that Hannah will always be loved by me!
Happy (late) Birthday to my beautiful, smart, sweet, best friend who I could not do life without. We have had our ups and downs, but what matters most is that you stick with me through it all. I have enjoyed cheering you on thus far and just know I will continue to cheer you on in the next phase of life. It is going to be the best phase for you yet... I can just see it.
Thank you God for placing Hannah in my life. Thank you for her family, her friends, her advice, her jokes, her ghetto music, and most importantly thanks for that moment watching fire works on the lake. Loved her ever since! Thanks for being you Han. I am thankful for that everyday!
Southern and Thankful
Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God's steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way.
