Thank gosh it's Friday. I don't even really know why I care because I am on break but there is just something about a Friday!! Everyone is in a great mood, excited about the weekend, has fun plans or no plans, no work, no school, no stress.... until Sunday. That's when you realize you've procrastinated too much and wish it was Friday once again. I am not sure I have ever met someone who says "I don't like Friday's" I mean it is just unethical. Therefore we can all agree that we love Friday. But have you ever been in a small town on a Friday afternoon? I mean it is like a whole different level of Friday.
As soon as school gets out kids race to Sonic before happy hour is up. The shops flood with those who have just received their paychecks for the week because they are now ready to shop. Some get out of town for the weekend. Some talk about the 5 dinner options they have as far as going out to eat. Some drive by the local cinema to see what is showing and when. Some are just happy to go home, order in pizza, and sit on the couch. The mood in a small town is just so different, yet so happy at the same time. I think you have to be from a small town to really understand. The options aren't endless for what citizens in a small town can do on a Friday night, but that doesn't limit people, it almost makes them more excited. Some people probably do the same thing every Friday night in a small town. And they are just as happy when Friday roles around to do the same thing because that is the atmosphere in a small town.
Sometimes you forget the little things. I love being in Stuttgart, AR, on Friday's because it is almost better than a Friday anywhere else in the world. That is something to be thankful for!
Southern and Thankful
Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God's steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way.
