In life some of the only times that you here the phrase "dreams come true" is at Disney World. Don't get me wrong, I adore Disney world and all it's magic, but if you had never been, you wouldn't even have the tiniest feeling to tell you that dreams do come true. In today's world, a lot of the time it seems it is impossible. My parents, other family, and some teachers put this in my head, but for some people they are never pushed to reach there dreams and that breaks my heart. I am here to prove that this Disney belief is very true! Today, two dreams came true. One, isn't as serious as the other, but they are both things I wanted to see in life... making them "a dream come true."
First, if you are a loyal reader, then you know that I love when my Janjan makes mashed potatoes and that isn't very often because we are a rice family. I sometimes seem to forget that when I am craving mashed potatoes! Tonight for dinner (thankful for a home cooked meal) my mother made mashed potatoes. MY MOTHER. I mean my mother is a wonderful cook, but I don't think she has ever made this dish. At least, not for me! I almost feel out! I couldn't believe it. Now, I never physically dreamed my mother would make mashed potatoes, but after tonight I will probably be seeing them in my sleep. They were too good!! So thank you mom for doing something so sweet for me. It means so much that you would take the time, when you are so very busy, to make my favorite dish from stretch because you knew it would make me happy. You are the best mother and we all know I am so thankful for you. Now, maybe when she retires she and Janjan can make mashed potatoes for a living... Hey, one can only dream, right?
Second, a literal dream came true today and I am so very thankful. All your life, you spend a good majority of the time dreaming about the future. What will you do? Who will you be? Those questions only time will tell, but it is fun to let your mind come up with things on it's own... that is a dream. I remember when I wanted to be a cook. I also remember when I wanted to be a dog. These dreams are always changing it seems, but as you grow up, it seems they just expand off of one another. I am so amazed at how my dreams are starting to come true and how God defiantly has a hand in that! Today, with the help and support of many people, I sold my first Southern and Thankful product. I could not think of a better way to celebrate this than on the 8 month anniversary of Southern and Thankful and by selling 8 unique and exclusive phone cases. They will hopefully be the start of a great legacy I dream to leave behind. I said a prayer over the cases for the 8 lucky people who will be helping me start this dream and I prayed that they would always be thankful. I would like to thank my best friend for taking her time and talent to help me start this dream also. She has a heart of gold and she will forever be golden in my eyes. Thank you Steph for being a true best friend. (happy eve BTW) If you would like to purchase one I have 3 great cases left. One for an iPhone 5/5s and two for an iPhone 6! They are $60.00 and once you place the order, we will hash out the details. This is limited and very special to me. I will not be doing much else, besides dreaming, until the summer due to what I feel will be a crazy spring semester. I hope to have even more support then, but take a moment now and look on my Instagram for more details! My heart is so thankFULL!
Today has been such a blessing. Mom made mashed potatoes. I made and sold my own product. Dreams really do come true!
Some say I will be famous. Will that happen? I have no idea. What I do know is that I pray everyday that God will use me to be an example of him in this world. I'd love to do that on such a large level, but that my friends is why they say to never stop dreaming. I will not stop now! One thing you should know about Southern and Thankful is that we are dreamers!
And that we are forever thankful for!!
