Have you ever looked at something and just thought of how simple it was? I tend to do this a lot. I am not really sure what the reason is, but most of the time seeing the simplicity in something helps me see how and why I need to be thankful for it. Being back in Stuttgart is kind of an adjustment because I have been in the city where everything is at your disposal. Now I am in this small town where you are lucky to find anything without it becoming a challenge. But this challenge will make me thankful.
If you know me, then you know I love a good sweet treat. Naturally, I found lots of places to satisfy this need in Fort Worth and I have found myself missing them as I am very limited here in Stuttgart. This is probably not a bad thing though. But I had forgotten about the local snow cone stand.
Nothing real special about this place, beside the fact that it is the only place in town that sells real snow cones. It is true shave ice. They put a block of ice in a machine and next thing you know you have a snow cone. I am thankful for this little place because it puts a smile on my face and satisfy's my need for a sweet treat. My favor of choice is wedding cake. I have ventured out, but I always come back to this flavor because I love it. If you are from Stuttgart you should of course visit it one day. It is a small stand in a gravel parking lot, but it is popular place to be during the summer. I can remember it being there for quite some time.
It is good to be back with things that bring so many good memories. Now I know it isn't what I am used to, but it will do for this summer in a small town. Nothing depicts that better than this tiny stand in the middle of a huge gravel parking lot.
It may be something small, but today is has me largely thankful. Satisfy your sweet tooth with a snow cone. I may not have very many options, but odds are I would pick this over anything. You know it is summer when you visit the snow cone stand. That is something I will stay thankful for!
Southern and Thankful
Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God's steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way.
