I have got to apologize for my absence over the past two days... The nights have been very late, making it hard for me to stop in and say hello to you all. I am sorry about that, but I am excited because the Beta Theta Pi pledge class are official members of this fraternity and we are so happy to have them! Thursday night I was up late because we give the pledges the option of staying in the house the night before initiation with their bigs because it' fun and it's good bonding time before a very special day! My little stayed with me and we were up pretty late chatting about life and what not. I am glad we did it! And then last night was initiation and then after initiation we were out doing fun things. For example, we went to this place right near Waco that has these incredible kolaches. I mean it is like famous around here and we were hungry so we went. It was a fun time for sure!
I think initiation or any ceremony like that is always very special. It is fun to be the one honored and it is also fun to be on the other side making the honoring successful. I have now been on both sides, which is a cool thing to say. I was super excited for initiation for these guys because it is a cool moment in your life and especially your college journey. I am super thankful that my fraternity sees the value in this history and important part of being a Beta. It is also very cool for the members of the education team to see how all their hard work paid off. Overall, I would say we are excited for the future of this fraternity and more good times ahead!
So you will have to excuse my absence for the past couple of days! It has been a special time and I am happy I took some time to take it all in. I am thankful to be a part of something so rewarding!
I would like to ask for prayers because I am running for two positions on my fraternity's executive team for the next year. Tomorrow I have a 5 minute interview at 11:55 and then another at 12:10, which includes a two minute speech for each and question and answer for each. I am excited to offer my leadership skills to my fraternity, but I am also a little nervous. I am confident that God has a plan and I know if I He wants me in one of these roles He will put me there! Just prayers for confidence and wisdom as I head into these interviews. Any prayers would be much appreciated!
The future is exciting, but it can also be scary. I am thankful for the role Beta plays in my life and I am thankful for the role it will play in the future. It has been a great couple of days celebrating the future of beta and I am excited about that! I hope you are all having a happy weekend full of thanks!
Southern and Thankful
Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God's steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way.
