It is #thankfulthursday and I am thankful for a tradition from last year that has continued on to this year. In case you are unaware, I loved my Freshman dorm. It was called Brachman Hall. It was the oldest dorm on campus and farthest. We all bounded over living so far from everyone else. If you notice I used "was" because Brachman was torn down this past summer after we moved out in May. We were the last group to live there and now when Freshman asked where I live I tell them "Brachman" and they give me that confused look because they have no idea where that is. It is kind of sad, but at the same time I feel very blessed to have lived there the last year. I miss it a lot, but I took several things from it. For example, my Thursday night bible studies. Every Thursday Night we would have a bible study in Brachman with residents and it was always such a blessing. I was pretty bummed at the thought of not having that this year, plus several of the leaders were our "RA'S" and they graduated this last spring. Good thing for me is that those leaders stayed in the area and we are continuing the bible study this year!! It is sadly not in Brachman, but being with those people again talking about the Lord's work is a gift.
Tonight we had a bible study and it is just so cool to be around my friends again and hearing how God is working in each of their lives. I mean it is so cool to see! God really is so good. This semester we have been focusing on the importance and reference of the old testament. Very cool, right?
We went through Ruth tonight and it was pretty cool. It related to being good examples and spreading God's message to others, which is so important. The stories and work God is doing in this group is so amazing, I feel so blessed that we are carrying this on and I get to be part of it with some of my favorite people.
Some of my best friends came from my dorm last year. They will always be my best friends, but at the same time I am trying to form great relationships with the people I am currently living with. It is weird not being with these people everyday and at times it has been a hard adjustment, but this bible study makes it all work out. I am SO thankful for it and Thursday nights. Brachman may be gone, but God's presence in that place has expanded on this campus. I love seeing and being a part of that. Thank you God for Brachman Bible Study.
Southern and Thankful
Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God's steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way.
