Currently coming to you all from Oklahoma... I am pretty sure this is the first time I have been to this state! Tonight was a night of first's for me! We had a mixer tonight at Winstar casino (apparently the worlds largest casino lol) which is a little over an hour away in Oklahoma! So not only did I visit Oklahoma for the first time, I visited a casino for the first time!
Let's take a minute to think about the things I have won in life... I would consider myself a lucky person so ya know I thought, "This will be fun!!!" Okay, it was fun, but I won no money. I only spent $20, but sadly I did not come back with anything! That is okay though because I got to experience it and that is all that matters... Sorry Dad! The theme was Wolf of Winstar like Wolf of Wallstreet! Of corse you dress to the theme, but my date, April, and I weren't really feeling it! I think our wolf shirts were a much better choice. Thanks for being such a great date, jamming on the bus with me, and winning some money so I didn't feel like such a fail! You are a wonderful person! You know I'm thankful for you!
I also learned that the life of a gambler is sad. They waste all this time and money in a nasty place. Did you know that in most casino's they don't have clocks because they don't want people to see how much time they are wasting? I don't care how exciting or how much money you win, that life is sad! Anything, like that, that is addicting and takes your eyes off of the most important thing in life, Jesus, is so wrong to me. I feel bad for those people! But no matter what, I am thankful for a good time and something that only reminds me how important it is to keep my eyes on God! Even though I lost money, I spell like smoke, and I am just now heading back to campus, I am thankful for a fun time with some of my favorite people! God is good and I am thankful that I am obsessed with him! Remember how important that is! No money, but I can't win everything, right?
Southern and Thankful
Blessed is an understatement when it comes to my life. Each and every day I am amazed by God's steadfast love. In return, I have claimed this space to show my thanks and whatever else comes along the way. I pray God has a grand purpose for me and I plan to get there with a little Southern and a lot of Thanks! Join me!
